Coastal Plains

The Coastal Plains region includes the Piney Woods, Black land Prairie, South Texas Plains, and the Gulf Coast Plain. Some of the resources are opals (a mineral), forests and hard woods. Bodies of water include the Trinity River, Sabine River, and the Gulf of Mexico. The Padre Islands and Galveston Bay are also in the Coastal Plains region. Major cities are Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio. The climate in the Coastal Plains can have Tornado's and Hurricanes. The Alamo is located in the Coastal Plains in San Antonio.
